Hello! My name is Stephen, and I like programming computers, analyzing data, and anything mathematical. I am currently looking for roles as a software engineer or data scientist.
I studied a Ph.D. in math at the University of Washington from 2009 to 2014. While there, I did research in geometric measure theory with Tatiana Toro. I also founded the graduate student analysis seminar. After that, I was an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota where I particularly enjoyed teaching applied linear algebra.
I started coding as a sophomore math major at the University of Colorado. I really enjoyed it, and decided to study a minor in computer science. Since then, I've gotten to learn and grow a lot as a software developer by solving research math problems.
In addition to solving interesting problems, I also enjoy playing guitar, slacklining, climbing, biking, and cooking.
